Researchers have explored how lifestyle factors may affect our physical and cognitive health.  Diet, exercise, stress, sleep problems and other factors may influence age-related physical and cognitive decline. Come and learn about the latest research on lifestyle changes and how to incorporate healthy habits into your daily routine!

Topic: Technology, Gaming and Obsessive Compulsive Behaviors in Youth / Young Adults

Is your #1 complaint your son or daughter is “addicted” to video games and you’re not sure what to do? Well then this educational workshop is for You! An overview and analysis of gaming and gambling i.e. Social, eSports, Social Gaming and Internet Gambling will be discussed. Also, how to identify behaviors, the impact of social media and gaming on youth behaviorally, emotionally, and psychologically/cognitively will be covered. Lastly you will learn about therapeutic interventions, mutual aid groups and helpline resources as well as have time to ask questions…so come join us!

**Tuesday, November 28, 7:00-9:00pm

Topic: Transition to Adulthood

Parents often describe transitioning to adulthood as “falling of a cliff.” In order to prepare for the landscape of adult service systems, a plan for transitioning should begin in the high school years. Knowledge of the adult service systems and the requirements for eligibility can aid in preparations. This workshop demonstrates effective transition planning as part of the IEP process And also describes the landscape of adult services. Content will be relevant for parents/caregivers of individuals from ages 10-21.

Sharing painful information about a child’s history or birth family can be challenging for those raising         relative’s children. This workshop will help you develop the skills to competently tell the children you are raising difficult information and help them process it.
